Maki's Paris Fashion Party

Early this year, I started browsing suppliers for my daughter's 7th birthday party(which by the way will be 9 months ahead...I don't want to cram). The biggest factor to consider is the budget from there I worked on the guestlists. Maki is a fashionista in process, she has an eye for clothes and accessories...knows how to mix and match too. At first we contemplated on having a spa party with nail art at a salon but we were so caught up with the food, party host, loot bags and the lists went on finally we have a change of heart. We booked at Don Henrico's Brickroad, Sta. Lucia and we had a Paris Fashion Party last October 6, 2012.

guests came in their fab outfits!

Decors are by Ms Kristine of Kiko's balloons which happens to be the in-house decorator of Don Henrico's. I had 3 color swags, 40 ceiling balloons with curled ribbons, 10 balloon table centerpieces, 2 rental standees which were custom made for our party--the Eiffel tower and Paris Cafe. Thanks to Lola Mama from whom we borrowed the mannequin and she also made the background fabric. The decor turned out to be elegant and festive.

Mannequin's outfit from my closet and the
necklace from Tita Ta.

A standout backdrop =)

Welcome tarpaulin

We got the services of Arts N Faces for the photobooth, glitter tattoo and hair salon. Almost all the visitors had souvenir photos(photos were "high definition'). The hair salon and glitter tattoos were hits but the guests never waited too long for their turn because the artists were fast but the output were never compromised---gorgeous tattoos and fab hair!

We had Nestle food cart. I failed to take a photo of the cart but Dra Tin enjoyed this yummy treat.
Potato Corner is my son's all time fave french fries. I wasn't surprise when this was the first to be consumed.

Butch Gonzales  was our party host/magician/ventriloquist. I wasn't able to view the whole program because I was roaming around to check if the guests were having a fine time. But based on the my kids' feedback, they had a blast especially the puppet show. Pictures captured were also evident of very fun times =)

Lootbags were from divilandia along with the game prizes. Some game prizes were from the Gift Gate warehouse sale at the Fort. Some of the prizes were not photographed because they were inside a box. Candies and goodies were from SM.

I would like to pat myself for making a good job of creating this 3 layered moist chocolate cake with ganache and almond chocolates for my baby girl [who would have thought, sometime last year I could not even make a decent cheesecake thanks to crash courses =)  ]. Thank you to my sister Tata who helped me decorate. We are not much of a fan of fondant cakes (don't know either how to make fondants but hopefully next year I will learn that).

I also made 60 chocolate cupcakes with creamcheese frosting. The packaging too are pretty!

We have a Paris-themed party but our food is Italian. Well as they say, you can't go wrong with good food. Food is always a top priority whenever we have parties because it is one of the things that is best remembered. We chose the Primera Buffet for the adults and plated dish for the kids. Primera buffet consists of Dip N' Nachos, Ceasar Salad, 10" Rustic Italian Pizza, 10" Vegetable Delight Pizza, Classic Carbonara, Ala Buffalo Chicken with dip, Ice cream on cup and bottomless Iced Tea. Yum! The kids have Spaghetti Bolognese, Captain Crunch Fried Chicken with gravy, single served Iced tea.

Ooopppsss there's more..... my father-in-law believes that 7th birthdays should be celebrated always with Lechon. I was about to refuse because it is not cohesive at all but I was out-voted. It turned out that lechon was popular, it was raved more than the buffalo chicken. But in all fairness Don Henrico's really delivered their menu well, so I was a very happy client.

Great pictures and video serviced by Photostreamer. I had a glimpse of the pictures on their facebook account few hours after the party. Viewed the MTV after 3 days. Got hold of all the raw and edited versions of the pictures and video after 6 days (at a very reasonable price). Note- all pictures with watermarks are from Photostreamer.  This is my fave picture of Maki. She is working it on the runway. Her lovely outfits are by Baby Fashionista.

Her cousins (Atta, Tam and Carlos) and Kuya Ethan were supportive enough to join her as she sang and played the guitar. They sang the mashup of "Call Me Maybe" and "Payphone".

The fashion runway winners! Best outfit (male and female), best runway walk (male and female).

We had the grandest time! We had wonderful guests--our family, closest friends and Maki's classmates. Most important of all Maki enjoyed her party, she was thanking us everyday and even weeks after her  birthday. Thank you Daddy Jon for all the love. ..And glory and honor to our Savior Jesus Christ who has continuously blessed our family.
